Today marks the fourth anniversary of the Fall of Kabul - a day that changed everything for tens of thousands of Afghan allies who risked their lives to serve the U.S. mission. Images and stories from that day are hard to forget - people scrambling on airplanes and fleeing through the city to get on a flight out of Afghanistan.

Among the crowd was B, his pregnant wife, and his 5 kids, trying to get to safety.

B was a liaison officer, leading collaborations between Afghan Special Forces and US Special Operations Forces. He was trusted at the highest level.

A flight to safety was in reach, but B's wife went into labor and the family faced an impossible decision. B was already under threat of execution and if he remained in Afghanistan and was caught, his family would be in danger alongside him. B and his family decided that he should escape, and find a way to bring his family to him separately.

Fast forward to 2025. B’s wife and children finally got their Special Immigrant Visas and were waiting for their flight to the United States when an executive order threw another wrench in their plans. All flights were suspended; B’s wife and kids were left in limbo once again.

Thankfully, No One Left Behind's Executive Director Andrew Sullivan was in Qatar, coordinating emergency flights for our allies, when we learned about B and his family.

We were able to book flights for B’s wife and kids and reunite the family after nearly four years apart. You made these smiles and this sweet reunion possible:

As we reflect on the four years since the Fall of Kabul, we are reminded of how much more there is to do to keep our promise for our allies.

Special Immigrant Visas are still being administered. U.S.-government funding for flights remains suspended. Our allies remain in limbo.

And so, No One Left Behind continues to step in and provide flights for our wartime allies

In order to sustain this critical, life changing service, No One Left Behind is launching an urgent campaign to fund 100 evacuation flights for Afghan allies still in danger. That’s about $150,000 total, with each flight costing around $1528.

Each plane ticket is more than a flight; it is a life changed forever.

Will you help us change 100 more lives?
