The Fulfilling Promises to Afghan Allies Act (FPAAA) makes critical reforms to secure our wartime allies still in Afghanistan. It also ensures Afghans who the U.S. government evacuated can submit to additional vetting to apply for lasting protection in the United States.

Our partners in Congress have now reintroduced this necessary legislation, and Congress needs to hear from you – their constituent – that they need to stand with our Afghan allies as a cosponsor of the Fulfilling Promises to Afghan Allies Act today.

Write to Your Senators:

Dear Senator [XXX- Insert the Senator’’s Name-XXX]:

My name is [XXX-Insert Your Name-XXX], and I am your constituent in [XXX-Insert Your City and Zip Code-XXX]. Following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, tens of thousands of vulnerable Afghans allies were evacuated to the United States via humanitarian parole, a temporary allowance to enter and remain in the United States. Despite receiving this life-saving evacuation, many Afghans remain in an increasingly dangerous state of legal limbo.

Like millions of Americans, I have been profoundly disappointed in Congress' inaction in supporting our Afghan allies. I ask that you, as my Senator, be part of the solution by cosponsoring the Fulfilling Promises to Afghan Allies Act as an original cosponsor. We need this legislation to improve SIV processing and to vet and protect our allies left in legal limbo in the United States.

This is an opportunity to keep our promise to the Afghans who stood alongside our troops and diplomats. I look forward to your response and to your cosponsorship of the Fulfilling Promises to Afghan Allies Act.

Sincerely,

[XXX-Insert Your First and Last Names-XXX]

Call Your Senators:

Please note, interns and junior staff often manage the phones. The call is still an important tool to show your support for our Afghan allies. The most effective message is calm, clear, and includes your name and zip code so that the team can pass your message on to the Senator or Representative.
