This is part 1 of a 5-part series about Ibrahim’s journey to the United States.
Meet Ibrahim, aka B.
He served as an interpreter for the U.S. Marines in Iraq from 2007 - 2011. As an interpreter, he risked his life everyday while on the battlefield. He stood shoulder-to-shoulder next to U.S. marines in the line of fire as the United States waged war in Iraq.
After his service, he still faced danger, now due to his service to the United States. As he put it, “They put a price on my head.”
Ibrahim faced dangers and lived through uncertainty, chaos, and fear that very few would begin to understand.
However, his story is also not unique. There are thousands of Iraqi allies who also risked their lives and faced unspeakable danger, and continue to wait on their Special Immigrant Visas.
